Elgiblity Criteria.
Admission Terms and Conditions
• The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in
which admission is sought. The maximum age limit for admission shall be 35 years.
• Minimum Educational Qualification
i. Candidate with Science/Arts/Humanities/Commerce who have passed the 12th
Standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks
in the core/elective/academic subjects taken together and passed English
individually. The above candidates should have passed from recognise board
under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board.
ii. Candidate with Science/Arts/Humanities/Commerce who have passed the 12th
Standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks
in the core/elective/academic subjects taken together and passed English
individually. The candidates should have passed from State Open School
recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS)
recognized by Central Government.
iii. Vocational ANM’s/ RANMs are also eligible.
iv. Admission shall be through Entrance examination. Entrance test** shall
comprise of:
a) Aptitude for Nursing 10 marks
b) General Science 50 marks
c) General knowledge 20 marks
d) English 10 marks
e) General ability 10 marks
-Minimum qualifying marks for entrance test shall be 50% marks.
**Entrance test shall be conduct by University/State Government
• Candidate shall be medically fit.
• Candidate shall be admitted once in a year
Reservation policy:
• For disabled candidates: 3% Disability reservation to be considered with a disability of
loco-motor to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity and other eligibility
criteria with regard to age and qualification will be same as prescribed for each
nursing programme.
• Colour Blind candidates are eligible provided that colour corrective contact lens and
spectacles are worn by such candidates
Eligibility Criteria/Admission Requirements:
1. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with
any State Nursing Registration Council.
2. The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons.
Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
3. The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic
B.Sc. Nursing in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
4. Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
5. Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
6. Candidate shall be medically fit.
7. 5% relaxation of marks for SC/ST candidates may be given.
Entrance/Selection test
Selection of the candidates should be based on the merit of the entrance examination held by
University or competent authority.
Regulations for examination:
Eligibility for appearing for the examination:
80% of the attendance for theory and practicals. However 100% of attendance for practical
before the award of degree.
Classification of results:
50% pass in each of the theory and practical separately.
50-59% Second division
60-74% first division
75% and above is distinction
For declaring the rank aggregate of 2 years marks to be considered
If the candidate fails in either practicals or theory paper he/she has to reappear for both the
papers (theory and practical) Maximum no. of attempts per subject is three (3) inclusive of
first attempt. The maximum period to complete the course successfully should not exceed 4
years.
Candidate, who fails in any two subjects, shall be permitted to continue the studies into the
second year. However the candidate shall not be allowed to appear for the Second year
examination till such time that he/she passes all subjects of the first year M. Sc nursing
GNM Nursing Course Eligibility Requirement
Applicants need to fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria to seek admission to the Karnataka GNM Nursing course:
- Candidates who have passed the class 12 examination in the Science stream with 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry, English, and Biology are eligible for admission.
- A relaxation of 5% marks is offered to candidates belonging to SC/ST Category.
- Candidates must possess the domicile of Karnataka.
- The age of candidates must be 17 years or more at the time of admission.
- Candidates who have completed their class 12 from the NIOS board are also eligible to apply for the program.
PB B.SC NURSING ELIGIBILITY
Candidates for admission to the course are required to fulfil the following minimum eligibility criteria:
- Candidates should have passed the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Course.
- Candidates should have qualified 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects.
- Candidates should be registered as Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM)
- Minimum Marks Required (Aggregate): 50%
- Minimum Age Requirement: 17 years or more
